Garden Gym, Epsom

A physiotherapist based near Epsom Downs wanted a home gym where she could also see private rehab clients. Her Edwardian detached property had a wide, flat rear garden, and we built a 7m x 4m garden gym with a clear division between her personal training zone and a treatment area with a physio bench.

We installed anti-fatigue rubber flooring throughout the training zone and a warmer, cushioned vinyl in the treatment area. The space includes a wall-mounted mirror along one side, resistance band anchor points, and dedicated power for a Theragun and ultrasound equipment. A separate entrance from the side path means clients don’t need to walk through the family garden.

She told us the building has transformed her practice, letting her see clients without the overhead of renting clinic space. The dual-purpose design means she gets a brilliant personal gym and a professional treatment room all in one building.

Garden Office, Epsom

An IT project manager in Ewell was struggling to focus while working from the dining room table. His 1930s semi-detached house had a 15-metre garden, and we designed a 5m x 3.5m garden office from our Multi range with a small separate meeting nook for video calls, so he could take calls without background noise from the main desk area.

The office features full Cat6 wiring, a dedicated fibre connection from the house, and a sit-stand desk built into the design. We fitted anthracite grey composite cladding to complement the existing house, and the flat roof includes a concealed gutter system that drains into the garden’s existing soakaway.

He now works from the garden office four days a week and says his productivity has gone through the roof. The meeting nook has been a game-changer for client calls, and the whole family is happier now the dining table is back to being just a dining table.

    Epsom is best known for the Derby, run at Epsom Downs Racecourse since 1780, but there’s far more to this attractive Surrey market town.
