Garden Gym, Worthing

This 5m x 4.5m garden gym was built for a semi retired couple in Findon, just north of Worthing, who wanted to stay fit without the drive to a commercial gym. Their garden backs onto open countryside, so we designed the building with large windows on the rear elevation to take advantage of the views.

Inside, we installed impact absorbing rubber flooring, ceiling mounted anchor points for suspension training, and a compact but powerful heating and cooling system. The insulated panels keep the temperature stable regardless of what’s happening outside.

The couple use the gym together most mornings and have added a small stretching area with yoga mats. They told us the views of the South Downs from the treadmill make exercising feel less like a chore and more like a treat.

Garden Office, Worthing

This 5.5m x 3.5m Maxi garden office was built for a freelance copywriter in West Worthing who’d outgrown the kitchen table. With two young children at home, she needed a dedicated workspace with a proper door she could close.

The office features a large wrap around desk, plenty of storage, and a separate meeting area with comfortable seating for client calls. We oriented the glazing to catch the afternoon light, and the soft green composite cladding sits perfectly against the mature hedging in her garden.

Since moving into the garden office, our client says her productivity has doubled. She can focus without interruption during working hours and leave everything in place at the end of the day. The short walk back to the house signals the end of the working day in a way that closing a laptop on the kitchen table never could.
