We’re Garden Office Buildings, a family company based just down the road in Biggin Hill. We’ve been building bespoke garden rooms since 2004, and Sidcup is right on our doorstep.

Garden Gym, Sidcup

This 4.5m x 4m garden gym was built for a firefighter in Sidcup who needed to maintain his fitness between shifts. Commercial gyms didn’t fit his irregular schedule, so a home gym was the obvious solution. His 1930s semi had a good sized rear garden with plenty of room to work with.

We installed reinforced flooring to handle heavy deadlifts, a ceiling mounted battle rope anchor, and ventilation that keeps up with high intensity training. The insulated walls and floor mean he can train at any hour without disturbing the neighbours, even at 5am.

The gym has become essential to his routine. He trains there before and after shifts, and several colleagues have visited and started looking into garden gyms of their own. He told us it’s the single best investment he’s made in his home.

This 4.5m x 3.5m Maxi garden office was built for an IT consultant in Sidcup who was working from a desk in the corner of his living room. With two kids doing homework at the same table, something had to give.

The office is fully wired with Cat6 ethernet, multiple power circuits, and a dedicated fibre connection. The layout includes an L shaped desk, a standing desk station, and a compact kitchenette for tea and coffee. About Sidcup

Sidcup is a suburban area in South East London, in the London Borough of Bexley. It was part of Kent until 1965, and it still has that Kent borderland feel, with generous green spaces, quiet streets, and a slower pace of life than much of London. The housing stock is largely 1930s suburban, with well built semis and detached homes sitting on good sized plots.
