Garden Rooms Chislehurst

Bespoke garden rooms built for Chislehurst’s beautiful gardens. We’re a local family company with over 1,000 projects since 2004.

Chislehurst is one of our favourite areas to work in, and it’s easy to see why. At Garden Office Buildings, we’ve been building garden rooms across South East London and Kent for over twenty years, and Chislehurst’s leafy, generous plots make it a perfect fit for what we do.

The area has a real village feel, with a mix of period detached homes, Arts and Crafts houses and elegant Edwardian properties, many with gardens of 100 feet or more. Whether you’re on one of the prestigious roads near Chislehurst Common or in a characterful semi closer to Petts Wood, there’s almost always room for a well designed garden building. We’ve installed offices, studios, gyms and music rooms all across Chislehurst, and every one is designed to suit the individual plot.

Pop over to our showroom in Biggin Hill to see the quality for yourself, or take a look at our buildings and prices page to explore the range. We’re only a short drive away, and we’re always happy to talk through ideas over a cup of tea.

Being based in Biggin Hill means we’re right on Chislehurst’s doorstep. We can survey your garden, discuss your requirements and provide a detailed quote, all without any obligation.

Garden Gym, Chislehurst

A solicitor living in a detached Arts and Crafts house near Chislehurst Common wanted a private gym space away from the distractions of the family home. His garden was wide and mature, with established borders and a large lawn that backed onto the edge of Scadbury Park’s woodland. We designed a 4m x 4m garden gym that sat neatly in the far corner of the plot, screened by existing hedging.

The compact footprint was more than enough for his needs: a rowing machine, a set of dumbbells and a yoga mat. We fitted full-height glazing on the front and side elevations, giving him views out towards the trees while flooding the interior with natural light. Inside, we installed rubber sports flooring, a wall-mounted TV for workout videos and a compact air conditioning unit to manage temperature throughout the year.

He told us it’s become his morning ritual. He’s up at six, across the garden with a coffee, and done with his workout before the rest of the family is awake. The proximity to Scadbury Park means he often follows his gym session with a walk through the woods, which sounds like a pretty good way to start the day.

Garden Office, Chislehurst

A financial consultant working from a stunning Victorian detached home near the High Street needed to separate her working life from family life. With three children under ten, the dining table office setup had run its course. We recommended our Maxi model, positioned at the far end of her 120-foot garden beneath a canopy of mature horse chestnuts.

The design featured a full-width glazed front with views back up the garden towards the house, so she could keep half an eye on the kids while maintaining a proper professional workspace. We fitted the interior with built-in desk shelving along one wall, a small meeting area with two armchairs, and a compact kitchenette for those long afternoon calls. Underfloor heating and full insulation mean it’s comfortable all year round.

She told us the office has genuinely changed her work-life balance. She can walk the children to school, be at her desk in two minutes and still be home for dinner without a commute. Several of her neighbours have since been in touch with us about their own projects, which is always the best kind of recommendation.

    About Chislehurst

Chislehurst sits in the London Borough of Bromley and has a strong village identity that sets it apart from the surrounding suburbs. The High Street is lined with independent shops, pubs and restaurants, and the three commons, covering 180 acres of grassland, woodland and ponds, give the area a genuinely rural character. Chislehurst Caves, a network of man-made tunnels stretching over 20 miles beneath the town, add a bit of historical intrigue, while Scadbury Park’s 300 acres of ancient woodland border the eastern edge of the village.

Property in Chislehurst tends towards the larger end of the scale. You’ll find grand Victorian and Edwardian detached homes, handsome Arts and Crafts houses and some beautifully maintained 1930s properties, most with sizeable, well established gardens. Chislehurst station provides direct services to London Charing Cross, Cannon Street and London Bridge, with journey times of around 30 minutes.

We also serve the neighbouring areas of Bromley, Bickley, Sidcup, Petts Wood and Mottingham. Wherever you are in the BR7 area, we’re happy to come and take a look at your garden.

“I’d been working from the kitchen table for two years and it was driving everyone mad. I visited the Biggin Hill showroom after a friend recommended them, and within a month I had a beautiful garden office at the bottom of our garden. The team were really considerate about the mature planting and didn’t damage a single shrub. It’s honestly the best money we’ve ever spent on the house.” , James, Chislehurst, BR7
