Garden Rooms Croydon

Bespoke garden rooms for Croydon’s Victorian terraces and Edwardian semis. We’ve been building across south London since 2004, and we know these properties inside out.

Croydon’s an area we know well. From the wide-fronted Edwardian semis along Addiscombe Road to the classic Victorian terraces of South Croydon, there’s a real mix of property styles here, and most of them come with decent-sized rear gardens that are perfect for a garden office or studio build. We’ve completed dozens of projects across the borough, working with homeowners who want to make the most of their outdoor space without the hassle of moving.

What makes Croydon such a good fit for garden rooms is the combination of relatively generous plots and strong transport links. With East Croydon station offering fast trains to Victoria and London Bridge, plenty of residents work from home part of the week and need a proper workspace that’s separate from the main house. A purpose-built garden office solves that problem brilliantly.

If you’re thinking about adding a garden building in Croydon, we’d love to show you what’s possible. Pop into our Biggin Hill showroom to see our build quality up close, or take a look at our buildings and prices to get an idea of costs. We handle everything from planning advice through to final fit-out, so you won’t need to juggle multiple contractors.

Whether you’ve got a compact courtyard garden behind a terraced house or a long plot behind one of Croydon’s many interwar semis, we’ll design something that fits your space and your budget. Every build is bespoke, so you get exactly what you need.

Garden Gym, Croydon

A secondary school PE teacher in South Croydon came to us wanting a dedicated home gym so she could fit training around her teaching schedule. Her 1930s semi had a generous 18-metre garden, and we built a 5m x 4m insulated garden gym at the far end, giving her plenty of room for a squat rack, rowing machine, and free weights area.

We installed rubber flooring throughout and added extra ventilation panels to keep the space comfortable during intense sessions. The electrics included dedicated sockets for a wall-mounted fan and a small Bluetooth speaker system. We also fitted full-height glazing on the garden-facing wall to let in natural light while maintaining privacy from the neighbours.

The whole project took just under three weeks from groundwork to handover. She told us it’s completely changed her routine, and she’s even started offering private PT sessions to colleagues on weekends. That’s the kind of flexibility a well-designed garden gym gives you.

Garden Office, Croydon

A freelance web developer living near Addiscombe tram stop had been working from his kitchen table for two years. His Edwardian terrace had a narrow but long garden, so we designed a 6m x 3m garden office based on our Maxi range that made brilliant use of the available space. The building sits along one boundary wall, leaving the rest of the garden free for his kids to play in.

Inside, we fitted a full-length desk along one wall, a bank of power sockets with integrated USB charging, and Cat6 ethernet cabling for a reliable wired connection. The fully insulated walls and underfloor heating mean he works comfortably year-round, and the double-glazed bi-fold doors flood the room with light during the day.

He mentioned that having a proper office just 20 steps from the back door has made a huge difference to his productivity and his family life. The commute to work now takes about 15 seconds, which certainly beats the tram to East Croydon.

    About Croydon

Croydon is one of south London’s largest and most diverse boroughs, with a population that’s grown steadily thanks to excellent transport links and ongoing regeneration. The area’s served by East Croydon and West Croydon stations, with fast trains reaching Victoria in around 15 minutes and London Bridge in just over 20. The Tramlink network connects neighbourhoods like Addiscombe, Elmers End, and New Addington, making it easy to get around without a car.

Architecturally, Croydon’s a real patchwork. You’ll find grand Victorian villas in areas like Park Hill and South Croydon, solid Edwardian terraces in Addiscombe, and rows of 1930s semis stretching out towards Selsdon and Shirley. The town centre has seen significant modern development, with new apartment blocks and commercial spaces transforming the skyline. Despite the urban buzz, there are pockets of greenery everywhere, from Lloyd Park to Coombe Wood Gardens.

For families, Croydon offers strong schools and plenty of leisure facilities, while professionals appreciate the short commute into central London. It’s a borough that keeps evolving, and garden rooms have become a popular way for residents to add flexible space without the cost and disruption of a traditional extension.

Our showroom in Biggin Hill is just a 20 to 25 minute drive from most parts of Croydon, heading south along the A232 and A233. It’s well worth the trip to see our Midi, Maxi, and Multi ranges in person before you commit. You can check the build quality, feel the insulation thickness, and get a real sense of how much space each model offers.

“We visited the Biggin Hill showroom on a Saturday morning and were really impressed. The team talked us through every option without any pressure, and we ended up going with a slightly larger build than we’d originally planned. Best decision we’ve made for the house.” – James and Priya, Addiscombe, Croydon.
