Garden Rooms Maidstone

We’re proud to serve homeowners in Maidstone, Kent’s county town, with garden rooms built to the same high standard we’ve maintained since 2004.

Maidstone sits right at the heart of Kent, the county town in the middle of what’s often called the Garden of England. The River Medway winds through the centre, and the surrounding countryside is some of the most beautiful in the south-east. It’s a town where people genuinely value their outdoor space, and a bespoke garden building is a natural fit for homes across the area.

The housing around Maidstone is wonderfully varied. In town, you’ll find everything from Georgian and Victorian properties with established walled gardens to 1950s and 1960s semis with good-sized rectangular plots. Head out to villages like Bearsted, Loose, or Marden and the gardens get even bigger, with detached homes sitting on plots of a quarter-acre or more. Whatever the size and shape of your garden, we’ll design something that works.

We’re a family company based in Biggin Hill, and while Maidstone is a bit further afield than some of our builds, it’s well within our working area and we’ve completed plenty of projects in and around the town. Take a look at our buildings and prices for an overview of what we do, or come and visit our showroom to see the quality for yourself.

With over 1,000 builds under our belt, we bring experience and care to every single project. We don’t rush, we don’t cut corners, and we don’t use subcontractors. Your garden room is built by our own skilled team from start to finish, and we stand behind every one.

Garden Gym, Maidstone

A secondary school teacher in Bearsted wanted a dedicated training space after his gym closed during lockdown and he never went back. His 1970s detached house had a wide, flat garden of about 100 feet, backing onto fields at the rear. He wanted something substantial enough for a power rack, bench, and cardio equipment, with proper ventilation for intense sessions.

We built a 6m x 4.2m garden gym with a reinforced concrete slab, high-density rubber flooring, and extra ceiling height to accommodate overhead pressing. The building has two opening roof windows for ventilation, a wall-mounted air conditioning unit, and a sound system wired into the walls. We also fitted an external tap and shoe rack by the entrance to keep the interior clean.

He got in touch after six months to say it’s the best money he’s ever spent on the house. He trains five days a week now and has even started coaching a few friends at weekends. The views across the fields from the gym’s glazed front panel make it a genuinely enjoyable space to work out in, and the insulation keeps it warm through the winter without costing a fortune to heat.

Garden Office, Maidstone

A marketing manager in Loose had been working from her kitchen table for two years and needed a proper dedicated office. Her period cottage had a beautiful cottage garden of around 70 feet, with established borders and a mature apple tree. She was worried that a modern building would look out of place, so we worked closely with her on the external finishes.

We installed a 5m x 3.5m Maxi with larch cladding that will silver naturally over time, blending with the rustic character of the garden. Inside, it’s fully modern: plastered walls, underfloor heating, integrated desk and shelving, and fast broadband via a direct cable run from the house. A small porch overhang at the entrance keeps the rain off and adds an attractive detail to the frontage.

She told us the office has made working from home feel like a genuine choice rather than a compromise. She can close the door at the end of the day and leave work behind, something she could never do when her desk was in the kitchen. She also said her colleagues on video calls always comment on the beautiful garden view behind her, which is a nice bonus on a Monday morning.

    About Maidstone

Maidstone is the county town of Kent, set on the River Medway roughly 32 miles south-east of central London. It’s a town with genuine depth, from the historic Archbishop’s Palace on the riverbank to the 450-acre Mote Park with its boating lake and woodland walks. Leeds Castle, often called the loveliest castle in the world, is just a few miles to the east.

Transport connections are good for a town this far into Kent. Direct trains run to London Victoria and London Charing Cross in under an hour, and the M20 provides fast road access to London, the Channel Tunnel, and the coast. For day-to-day shopping, the town has two main centres, Fremlin Walk and The Mall, along with a thriving independent high street.

The surrounding villages offer some of the most attractive residential settings in Kent. Bearsted, with its cricket green and traditional pubs, is a perennial favourite. Loose, Marden, and Lenham all have their own distinct character. Gardens in these areas tend to be generous, often backing onto open farmland or orchards, and they’re perfect for a well-designed garden building that makes the most of the setting.

    Visit Our Showroom

Our Biggin Hill showroom is around 45 minutes from Maidstone by car, heading west on the M20 and then south through the Kent countryside. It’s a pleasant drive and well worth making to see our full range of buildings in person. Step inside our Midi, Maxi, and Multi display models and you’ll see straight away why our customers trust us with their builds.

“We looked at quite a few garden room companies and visited two other showrooms before driving to Biggin Hill. The difference was immediately obvious. Everything felt solid, well thought through, and properly finished. Our garden office in Bearsted was installed in five weeks and it’s been perfect. We’d recommend them to anyone.” – Claire and Steve, Bearsted
