Garden Rooms Sutton

Garden rooms designed for Sutton’s leafy suburbs and generous plots. We’re a family builder with over 1,000 projects under our belt, and Sutton’s one of our favourite areas to work in.

Sutton’s a brilliant area for garden room builds. The borough managed to avoid the worst of the wartime bomb damage, which means you’ll find intact streetscapes of Victorian, Edwardian, and interwar homes, many with the kind of substantial rear gardens that are perfect for a bespoke garden office, studio, or gym.

We’ve worked on properties right across the borough, from the Arts and Crafts homes on the Sutton Garden Suburb to the classic 1930s semis in South Sutton and Belmont. What ties them all together is decent garden space and homeowners who appreciate quality craftsmanship. That’s exactly what we deliver.

If you’re considering a garden building in Sutton, have a look at our full range and pricing, or better yet, come and visit our showroom in Biggin Hill. It’s a quick drive from Sutton, and you’ll get to see and touch the materials we use. We think that makes all the difference when you’re choosing a builder.

Every garden room we build is designed from scratch around your specific garden, your requirements, and your budget. Whether you need a compact music room or a full-sized multi-room office, we’ll make it work.

Garden Gym, Sutton

A husband and wife in Cheam Village both worked demanding jobs in the City and wanted somewhere to train without the 20-minute drive to the nearest gym. Their detached 1930s home had a wide, south-facing garden, and we installed a 6m x 5m garden gym with enough room for a full cable machine, treadmill, spin bike, and stretching area.

We fitted heavy-duty rubber flooring rated for dropped weights, along with reinforced wall mounts for a pull-up bar and suspension trainer. The electrical specification included a dedicated 32-amp supply for commercial-grade equipment, and we added air conditioning to keep the space usable during summer.

The couple told us they now train five mornings a week before work, and they’ve cancelled their gym memberships entirely. The building paid for itself within two years just on the savings from membership fees and fuel costs alone.

Garden Studio, Sutton

A retired architect in Carshalton wanted a dedicated art studio separate from the main house. She’d been painting in the spare bedroom for years, and the light was never quite right. We built a 4.5m x 4m studio based on our Maxi design with a large north-facing skylight to provide consistent, even illumination throughout the day.

Inside, we included a deep ceramic sink for cleaning brushes, wipeable wall panels, and built-in shelving for her supplies. The floor was finished in durable vinyl that can handle spills and splatters. We also fitted a mini split heating and cooling system so the studio stays at a stable temperature year-round, which is important for drying times and canvas storage.

She’s since joined a local art group and hosts small workshops in the space most Saturdays. It’s a lovely example of how a garden building can open up entirely new possibilities once you’ve got the right environment to work in.

    About Sutton

Sutton sits on the border between Greater London and Surrey, and it genuinely feels like both. The high street has the convenience of a London borough, but the residential streets have a quieter, more suburban character that reminds you just how close the Surrey countryside is. It’s a popular spot for families and commuters, with three mainline stations offering direct services to Victoria, London Bridge, and St Pancras International.

The housing stock is wonderfully varied. You’ll find everything from grand Edwardian villas in the conservation areas around North Sutton, to neat rows of 1930s semis in Belmont, to the distinctive Arts and Crafts and Tudorbethan homes on the Sutton Farm Estate. Because the area wasn’t heavily bombed during the war, there’s a continuity of architectural styles that many London boroughs lost.

Green spaces like Oaks Park and Beddington Park give the borough a leafy feel, and the proximity to the North Downs means proper countryside walks are never far away. Sutton’s schools are consistently rated among the best in London, which helps explain why young families keep choosing the area.

    Visit Our Showroom

From Sutton, our Biggin Hill showroom is roughly 30 minutes by car via the A232 and A233. We’d encourage you to come and see the Midi, Maxi, and Multi models set up as they’d appear in your garden. It’s the best way to understand the quality and space on offer.

“I’d looked at a few garden room companies online but visiting the showroom at Biggin Hill sealed the deal. You can really see the difference in the insulation and joinery compared to the cheaper options. The whole family came along and we had a great morning.” – Sarah T., Carshalton, Sutton.
