Garden Rooms Beckenham

Bespoke garden rooms designed and built for Beckenham homes. We’re a family company with over 1,000 builds since 2004.

If you’re looking for a garden building in Beckenham, you’ve come to the right place. At Garden Office Buildings, we’ve been designing and installing bespoke garden rooms across South East London and Kent since 2004, and Beckenham is one of the areas we know best.

Beckenham’s mix of Victorian terraces, Edwardian semis and inter-war detached homes means gardens here come in all shapes and sizes. Whether you’ve got a long, narrow plot behind a period terrace on Beckenham Road or a wider garden backing onto one of the quieter residential streets near Kelsey Park, we’ll design something that fits perfectly. Many of our Beckenham clients use their garden rooms as home offices, art studios or therapy rooms, making the most of their outdoor space without the hassle of moving house.

We’d love to show you what’s possible. Visit our showroom in Biggin Hill to see our builds up close, or browse our buildings and prices page to get an idea of costs. Every project is tailored to your garden, your needs and your budget.

With Beckenham just a short drive from our Biggin Hill base, we’re well placed to survey your garden, talk through your ideas and get things moving quickly. We handle everything from planning guidance to the final fit out, so you can sit back and watch your new garden room take shape.

Garden Gym, Beckenham

A personal trainer living in a Victorian terrace near Beckenham High Street wanted a dedicated gym space at the bottom of her garden. The plot was long and narrow, typical of the Victorian properties in this part of Beckenham, so we designed a 5m x 4m garden gym that made the most of the available width without crowding the garden.

We fitted full-height glazing on the front elevation to flood the space with natural light and give views across the garden towards Kelsey Park’s treeline. Inside, we installed reinforced flooring to handle free weights and a squat rack, along with rubber matting and integrated LED strip lighting for early morning sessions. A wall-mounted air conditioning unit keeps things comfortable year round.

The build took just under two weeks from start to finish, and the client told us it’s completely changed her routine. No more gym commute, no more monthly membership fees, and she can fit in a session between client bookings without leaving the house. It’s exactly the kind of practical, well thought out project we love delivering in Beckenham.

Garden Office, Beckenham

A freelance graphic designer working from a cramped spare bedroom in an Edwardian semi near Shortlands station asked us to build a proper home office in his back garden. We recommended our Maxi model, which gave him a generous workspace with room for a large monitor setup, a standing desk and a small meeting area for client visits.

The garden backed onto a row of mature trees, so we positioned the building to frame the view through floor to ceiling windows on two sides. We added a composite deck around the entrance to create a clean transition from garden to workspace, and the interior was finished with oak-effect laminate flooring and painted plaster walls to keep things feeling light and professional.

The whole project was completed in ten working days, including the electrical fit out with dedicated circuits for his equipment. He’s told us the separation between home and work has made a huge difference to his productivity, and the natural light from those big windows is a world away from his old box room setup.

    About Beckenham

Beckenham sits in the London Borough of Bromley, just south of Crystal Palace and Penge. It’s a well connected suburb with three stations offering services into central London. Beckenham Junction runs to Victoria and London Bridge, New Beckenham connects to Cannon Street and Charing Cross, and Clock House serves the London Overground. Most commuters can reach the City in around 25 minutes, which makes it a popular spot for professionals who want more space without giving up easy access to the capital.

The area has a strong residential character, with tree-lined streets and a good mix of Victorian, Edwardian and 1930s housing. Gardens tend to be generous by London standards, particularly on the streets surrounding Kelsey Park, Croydon Road Recreation Ground and the quieter avenues near Elmers End. The high street has a solid selection of independent shops, cafes and restaurants, and the weekly market adds a bit of community character.

We also serve the surrounding areas of Bromley, Penge, Shortlands, Elmers End and Anerley. If you’re anywhere in the BR3 postcode area, we’re happy to come out for a free site visit.

“We visited the showroom on a Saturday morning and it really helped us decide on the right size. We’d been going back and forth between the Midi and Maxi for weeks, but once you stand inside them it’s obvious. The Maxi was perfect for our needs. The whole process from survey to completion took about three weeks, and the team were brilliant. Really tidy, really professional. Our neighbours have already asked for the details.”, Sarah and Tom, Beckenham, BR3
