Garden Rooms Bexley

Garden rooms built for Bexley’s leafy suburban homes and generous plots. We’re right next door in Biggin Hill, building since 2004.

Bexley is a proper suburban borough with tree lined avenues, excellent schools, and the kind of generous gardens that people in inner London can only dream about. If you’ve got space at the bottom of your garden and you’re thinking about a home office, gym, or studio, a bespoke garden room is the smartest way to make use of it.

We’re based in Biggin Hill, which puts us right on Bexley’s doorstep. Since 2004 we’ve built over 1,000 garden rooms across the borough and wider South East London. The typical Bexley property, whether it’s a solid 1930s semi or a detached family home, usually has a rear garden of 15 metres or more and decent side access, making installation straightforward and efficient.

Our showroom is a short drive away, and we’d encourage you to visit before making any decisions. Walking through a finished building is worth more than a hundred website photos. You’ll see the insulation, the joinery, the wiring, and the finishing up close.

Head to our buildings and prices page for clear, upfront pricing. Every project begins with a free site survey, and every quote is fixed. No creeping extras halfway through the build.

Save £5,000 with our Ambassador Programme. Allow us to photograph your completed garden room and host up to 3 visits from prospective customers (by appointment only). Learn more.

Garden Gym, Bexley

A semi retired couple in Bexley Village wanted to build a garden gym after their GP recommended regular exercise for joint health. Their detached 1930s house on Parkhill Road had a beautiful, mature rear garden stretching over 25 metres, so space wasn’t an issue. We built a 4.5m x 3.5m room towards the rear of the plot, tucked behind an established laurel hedge for privacy.

The gym was fitted with cushioned vinyl flooring suitable for low impact exercise, a wall bar for stretching, and space for a stationary bike, a rowing machine, and a yoga area. We included underfloor heating rather than wall mounted radiators, keeping the floor space completely clear. Large windows on two sides give views of the garden, which the couple said makes exercising feel nothing like being in a gym.

They’ve been using the space daily since handover, alternating between cardio and stretching routines. The husband has also taken to using it as a quiet reading room in the evenings, enjoying the view down the garden with a cup of tea. It’s become one of the most used spaces on their property.

Garden Office, Bexley

A solicitor specialising in family law had been commuting to her Bexleyheath high street office and wanted to reduce her days there by setting up a home consulting room. Her four bedroom detached house near Danson Park had a wide, flat rear garden with easy access via a double gate from the driveway. We built a Multi at 7m x 4m, divided into a reception waiting area and a private consultation room.

The waiting area has comfortable seating, a water cooler point, and a small bookshelf. The consultation room is fully soundproofed, with acoustic insulation in the walls and ceiling and a solid core internal door. We installed a separate entrance from the side of the garden, so clients don’t need to walk through the family’s private outdoor space. The exterior is finished in premium Siberian larch with stainless steel house numbers.

She now sees clients at home three days a week and says the arrangement has improved her work life balance enormously. The professional appearance of the garden office has been commented on by every client who’s visited, and her practice partner is now considering a similar setup at his home in Sidcup.

    About Bexley

Bexley is an outer London borough that manages to feel more like a Kent market town than a suburb of the capital. The old village centre, with its flint church and quiet lanes, sits alongside more developed areas like Bexleyheath and Sidcup. Green space is abundant: Danson Park with its boating lake, Hall Place and Gardens with its Tudor great house, and Lesnes Abbey Woods with ancient woodland trails. Schools are consistently strong, which makes the borough popular with families.

The housing stock is predominantly interwar and post war, with large numbers of well maintained 1930s semis and detached houses. Many have driveways, garages, and rear gardens of 15 to 25 metres, ideal for garden room installations. Transport includes rail services from Bexley station to London Cannon Street and Charing Cross, plus bus routes connecting to Dartford, Bromley, and Eltham. The area offers excellent value compared to inner London while remaining well connected, and the sense of space in Bexley gardens is something our team always enjoys working with.

“We compared four garden office suppliers and Garden Office Buildings were the clear winner on quality. The showroom visit sealed it. Our office was built in the garden of our Bexley home in just five days, and the finish is genuinely outstanding. We’d recommend them to anyone in the borough.” – Homeowner, Bexley DA5
