Garden Gym, Weybridge

A former professional cricketer living in the Oatlands area wanted a gym and batting cage combination in his large rear garden. His Victorian family house had well over 30 metres of garden depth, and we built a 9m x 5m garden gym with a retractable batting net at one end and a full strength and conditioning setup at the other.

The batting end features heavy-duty industrial netting on a track system that can be pulled back to create open floor space when not in use. The gym end has a commercial-grade squat rack, cable machine, and adjustable bench, all on shock-absorbing Olympic lifting flooring. We fitted a ceiling-mounted projector linked to a coaching analysis system for reviewing batting footage.

His teenage sons have started using the facility daily, and he’s hosted coaching sessions for their local cricket club. The building has become a genuine community asset, and he describes it as the best investment he’s ever made in the property.

Garden Office, Weybridge

A hedge fund manager in Weybridge needed a home office for the days he works remotely, with a setup that supports Bloomberg terminals and multi-screen trading. His modern detached home on a private road had extensive grounds, and we built a 7m x 5m garden office from our Multi range with a dedicated server cabinet, climate control, and fibre-optic connectivity.

The interior was fitted to his specifications, with a six-screen desk setup, UPS battery backup, and a separate quiet zone with a sofa for reading research reports. We installed acoustic glass throughout for complete sound isolation, and the entrance features a small lobby area to prevent heat loss when the door opens during winter.

He told us the garden office performs identically to his Mayfair trading desk, and the reliability of the power and data connections has been flawless. On days when the markets are quiet, he enjoys the view of his garden, which he says is a significant improvement on the view from his City office.
