Garden Rooms Chiswick

Bespoke garden buildings for Chiswick’s elegant period homes and riverside properties. Family craftsmanship since 2004.

Chiswick is one of West London’s most attractive residential areas, with a wonderful mix of Georgian, Victorian, and Edwardian architecture, tree lined streets, and the Thames flowing along its southern edge. Properties here tend to have well maintained gardens, and many homeowners are looking for ways to add usable space without compromising the character of their homes. That’s exactly where a bespoke garden room comes in.

We’re a family company based in Biggin Hill, Kent, and we’ve been building premium garden offices, studios, and gyms since 2004. Chiswick is one of our West London areas, and we’ve completed a number of projects in W4 over the years. Whether you’re in one of the grand houses on Chiswick Mall, a Victorian terrace on the Glebe Estate, or an Arts and Crafts home in Bedford Park, we’ll design something that sits naturally in your garden.

Visit our showroom and see the build quality for yourself. We use traditional timber frame techniques with modern insulation and glazing, creating buildings that are warm in winter, cool in summer, and built to last for decades.

Our buildings and prices page provides transparent pricing for every model. We always start with a free site visit to understand your specific requirements and garden layout.

Garden Gym, Chiswick

A television producer living in a five bedroom Victorian house near Turnham Green wanted a gym that felt like a high end private members’ club rather than a garage conversion. Her rear garden was about 22 metres deep, with a mature apple tree and established borders she wanted to preserve. We positioned a 5.5m x 4m building beyond the tree, creating a natural separation between the house and the gym.

The interior was designed around her routine: Pilates reformer on one side, free weights and a cable machine on the other, with a Peloton bike positioned to look out through floor to ceiling windows over the garden. We installed walnut effect vinyl flooring, recessed LED downlights, and a concealed Bose sound system. The exterior is natural larch cladding with anthracite window frames, keeping the aesthetic in line with the area’s character.

She told us it’s the most used room on the property, and that it’s completely changed her approach to fitness. Her personal trainer now comes to her rather than the other way around, saving her hours each week. The apple tree, she was pleased to report, survived the build without a scratch.

Garden Studio, Chiswick

An interior designer who runs her practice from Chiswick needed a dedicated studio where she could meet clients, store fabric samples, and work on design boards without taking over the dining room. Her Edwardian semi on Barrowgate Road had a wide, south facing garden, and we built a Multi at 6.5m x 4m, divided into a main studio and a smaller storage and print room.

The studio side has a large pinboard wall, a cutting table, and a client meeting area with a small sofa and coffee table by the window. Lighting was carefully specified to ensure accurate colour rendering for fabric and paint selections, with colour matched LEDs at 4000K throughout. We fitted bespoke shelving for sample books and included a small kitchenette for client visits.

She moved her entire practice into the studio within days of completion and says it’s transformed the way she works. Clients love visiting the space, the garden setting gives a much better first impression than her previous rented office on the high road, and she’s saving considerably on commercial rent each month.

    About Chiswick

Chiswick sits on the north bank of the Thames in the London Borough of Hounslow, stretching from Hammersmith in the east to Kew Bridge in the west. The area is best known for its handsome residential streets, the boutique shops and restaurants of Chiswick High Road, and the beautiful riverside setting at Chiswick Mall and Strand on the Green. Architecturally, the area is remarkably varied: Georgian river houses, Victorian family terraces, Arts and Crafts gems in Bedford Park (often described as London’s first garden suburb), and elegant Edwardian mansions around Turnham Green.

Green space is plentiful, with Chiswick House and Gardens providing 65 acres of historically significant parkland, and the Thames towpath offering scenic walking and cycling routes. Transport is excellent: Turnham Green and Chiswick Park on the District and Piccadilly lines, plus Chiswick station for South Western Railway services. Properties typically have well proportioned rear gardens, many with direct rear lane access that simplifies materials delivery for building projects. Chiswick’s combination of period charm, green space, and village atmosphere makes it one of West London’s most desirable postcodes.
