Garden Rooms Dartford

We’re bringing top-quality garden rooms to Dartford homeowners, with builds designed to suit everything from Victorian terraces to modern family estates.

Dartford is a town with a rich history and a real buzz about it these days. Major regeneration, new housing developments, and improving transport links are all bringing fresh energy to the area. But one thing hasn’t changed: Dartford homeowners love their gardens, and a bespoke garden building is one of the smartest ways to make the most of that outdoor space.

The housing stock in Dartford is wonderfully varied. You’ll find Victorian terraces near the town centre with compact but usable gardens, 1930s semis in areas like Wilmington and Darenth with plots of 50 to 80 feet, and larger detached homes on the outskirts with gardens big enough for just about any build. We design each project around the specific garden, so whether you’ve got 30 feet or 130, we’ll make it work.

We’re a family company based in Biggin Hill, and we’ve been building garden rooms across Kent since 2004. Dartford is well within our regular patch, and we’ve got a strong track record in the area. Have a look at our buildings and prices to see what we offer, or visit our showroom to experience the quality first hand.

With over 1,000 builds behind us, we’ve learnt that no two gardens are the same and no two customers want exactly the same thing. That’s why every one of our buildings is designed from scratch. We handle everything, from the initial site visit right through to the final handover, and we don’t disappear afterwards either.

Garden Gym, Dartford

A firefighter from Dartford Heath contacted us about building a gym in his back garden. He works shifts and needed somewhere to train at odd hours without disturbing the family or paying for a 24-hour gym membership. His 1950s semi had a 65-foot garden with a flat lawn area near the rear boundary that was going unused.

We built a 4.8m x 3.8m insulated garden gym with extra-thick rubber matting over a reinforced concrete base to handle a squat rack and Olympic weights. The building has full electrics, LED strip lighting, a wall-mounted air conditioning unit for year-round comfort, and acoustic insulation so he can drop weights at five in the morning without waking anyone up.

He told us it’s been a game changer for his fitness. He can train before or after any shift without factoring in travel time, and the cost has already paid for itself compared to his old gym fees. His wife’s started using it too, doing early morning HIIT sessions before the kids wake up. It sits unobtrusively at the end of the garden, clad in charcoal composite that looks smart and modern against the rear fence.

Garden Office, Dartford

An accountant in Wilmington was struggling with the daily commute into London and wanted to set up a proper home office. Her Edwardian terrace had a narrower garden than most, around 45 feet long and 18 feet wide, so the design needed to be carefully thought through. She wanted a professional space that didn’t overwhelm the garden.

We installed a 4m x 3m Maxi towards the rear of the plot, with a full-width glazed front facing back towards the house. Inside, we fitted a built-in desk along one wall, storage cupboards, underfloor heating, and full network cabling. The exterior is finished in pale timber cladding that brightens up the garden and makes the space feel larger.

She said the office has completely changed her working life. She’s saving two hours a day on commuting, and the separation between home and work makes her more productive and less stressed. Her neighbours have commented on how attractive the building looks, and she’s already recommended us to two colleagues who are thinking about doing the same thing.

    About Dartford

Dartford has been an important Kent town since medieval times, when it served as a market centre and a stopping point for pilgrims heading to Canterbury. Today it’s a thriving commuter town with strong transport links, including fast trains to London in around 30 minutes and easy access to the M25, A2, and Dartford Crossing. Bluewater Shopping Centre is just a short drive away, adding to the area’s appeal for families.

The town offers a genuine mix of housing. The older streets near the centre feature Victorian and Edwardian terraces with courtyard gardens and longer plots running off the side streets. Further out, areas like Wilmington, Darenth, and Joydens Wood offer 1930s semis and post-war detached homes with more generous gardens. Newer developments at Ebbsfleet Garden City are bringing contemporary homes with designed outdoor spaces to the area.

Green space is plentiful. Dartford Heath covers 125 hectares of heathland, woodland, and ponds, and Central Park runs alongside the River Darent through the town centre. It’s a town with real momentum, where established communities sit alongside exciting new growth, and where a well-designed garden building can add both space and value to a wide range of properties.

    Visit Our Showroom

“I wasn’t sure what to expect, but the showroom blew me away. You can really feel the difference between a proper insulated garden room and the flat-pack stuff you see online. The team talked me through everything and there was zero pressure. Our gym was built three weeks later and it’s absolutely brilliant.” – Mark, Dartford Heath
